The Devil Card - Wild Ones
Share
Card: The Devil Major Arcana Card XV
Song Inspiration: Wild Ones by Jessie Murph featuring Jelly Roll
Pairing Crystals: Black Onyx, Obsidian, Hematite, Pyrite, Black tourmaline
Upright Keywords: Unhealthy Attachment, Addiction, Restriction, Holding Back (Bondage), Sexuality, Manipulation
Reversed Keywords: Detachment, Letting go of perceived Limitations, Releasing Old beliefs
When I have pulled this card in prior readings it has signified the relationship the querant knew was unhealthy, the selfish "partner" they couldn't let go, the treacherous dance of substance or Alcohol abuse, the friend you could not trust but still held on too. I choose this song because it sings of Addictions. Their own personal addictions and the addictive pull of the infamous "Bad Boy". No matter who or what the Devil card signifies, you must find the path around it and keep on with your journey, after all the Tarot does not end with the Devil. So, channel your inner High Priestess and focus on the move forward leaving The Devil behind, The World awaits you after all.
Wild Ones by Jessie Murph & Jelly Roll
Got me wide, wide open
Got a .45 on him
And he pushin' 'bout a 102
Always smokin' somethin'
He ain't worried 'bout nothin'
'Cause he ain't got nothing to lose
[Verse 1: Jessie Murph]
I got a thing for the hard liquor on ice
Short days and long nights
Marlboros out the window
Middle finger to the sky
Say you wanna get dangerous
Now you're speakin' my language
I forgot what your name is
So, I'ma call you mine (Mine)
I'ma call you mine (Mine)
[Chorus: Jessie Murph]
Got me wide, wide open
Got a .45 on him
And he pushin' 'bout a 102
Always smokin' somethin'
He ain't worried 'bout nothin'
'Cause he ain't got nothing to lose
When I draw this card in a reading it can signify The Ex that you just can't seem to let go even though you KNOW he is no good for you (typically not good for anyone else either) It has also signified the seductive dance of substance abuse and the push and pull of knowing it's a dangerous path but following it anyways. I have often found that each time the card is drawn, the querent nods a little in self-acknowledgment because that Devil doesn't hide itself once you know he is there. This song choice resonates with me as it sings of Black onyx, Obsidian, Jet, Charoite, Hematite, Pyrite, Tektite, Black tourmaline
